Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore today inaugurated the Pulse Polio Immunization Drive at District Hospital Ganderbal.
The launch marks the beginning of the district-wide immunization campaign aimed at protecting children from poliomyelitis and strengthening public health safeguards.
On the occasion, DC reiterated the administration’s commitment to achieving 100 percent immunization coverage. He urged parents to ensure that all eligible children are administered polio drops during the drive.
Chief Medical Officer Ganderbal briefed the Deputy Commissioner that a total of 234 polio booths have been established in the district at District Hospital, Sub-district Hospital, PHCs, NTPHCs, etc to cater to over 48000 eligible children.
He informed that Polio Immunization will be a three day activity, with today children being administered drops at booth level while on 22 & 23 December, door-to-door survey will be held to cover left over children.
He also informed about the arrangements made to ensure smooth and effective implementation of the campaign across the district.
DC expressed satisfaction over the arrangements put in place for the smooth conduct of the drive.
Health officials, doctors, paramedical staff, and representatives of the district administration were present during the inauguration.
