Mir showkat/Sopore: Police Apprehend Drug Peddler in Sopore; Contraband and Psychotropic Substances Recovered

Continuing its sustained drive against the drug menace, Sopore Police apprehended a drug peddler during patrolling under the jurisdiction of Police Post Bus Stand and recovered contraband and psychotropic substances from his possession.
During naka patrolling at Neharpora–Shalimar Link Road, a suspicious individual was intercepted and apprehended. Upon personal search, charas-like substance and Codeine Phosphate bottles were recovered and seized as per due procedure.
The accused has been identified as Irfan Majeed Shah, S/O Abdul Majeed Shah, R/O Neharpora Sopore.
Accordingly, FIR No. 65/2026 under Sections 8/20 and 22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sopore, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and wider linkages involved.
Sopore Police reiterate their zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and reaffirm their commitment to sustained enforcement to safeguard youth and society from the menace of drugs.
