In a continued drive against illegal sand extraction, a joint raid was conducted at Chakloo by Police Post Old Town in coordination with the Flood Control Department and the Department of Geology & Mining.
During the operation, 07 big motors, 02 generators and 03 small motors being used for illegal extraction of sand were seized from the spot.
The seized machinery was being used in violation of established norms and laws governing mineral extraction.
The action has been taken strictly as per law and further proceedings under relevant provisions are being initiated.
Baramulla Police, in coordination with allied departments, will continue strict action against those involved in illegal extraction.
